What are Capers and what do they taste like?
Capers are edible unripe buds of Capers bushes (Capparis spinosa) which grow in arid areas and commonly used in Mediterranean cuisine. They taste a bit like olives but are more lemony and tangy with notes of mustard and pepper. The closest cousin in India would be ker/kair (Capparis decidua) which you may have consumed as a pickle.
Capers are graded as per their size - the smaller it is, the better. We use the smallest size called non-pareil (no equal) or Lilliputs. Lilliputs have the firmest texture and the most intense flavor.
INGREDIENTS: FINE FLAVOUR COCOA BEANS, COCOA BUTTER, BROWN SUGAR, MILK SOLIDS, FREEZE-DRIED SALTED CAPERS, SUNFLOWER LECITHIN (E322), GUM ARABIC (E414).
